Kilspindie, North Berwick and Gullane progress to Cup semi finals
After claiming the 2nd Division title in dramatic style seven days earlier at Craigielaw, Kilspindie recorded a second straight away win on Sunday. This time their victims were Tantallon and their reward is a Cup semi final tie away to the winner of Gifford vs Glen (whose match was postponed to 7th February due to snow).
It was the first win for Kilspindie over the five times league champions since October 2001.
In the bottom half of the draw home advantage was enough to help North Berwick over the line against fellow league title challengers Royal Musselburgh, and Weston Main's team now face an away semi final against Gullane. The defending champions were relatively untroubled in dismissing visitors Longniddry by the same 5-0 margin they recorded agianst the same opponents in the league just a week earlier.
But attention now switches back to the league with all six 1st Division teams in action next Sunday, and all of them still involved in a scrap at one end of the table or the other.
