Challengers falter in battle for Division 1 title
In Division 1 Gullane reeled off another convincing win at home to Longniddry. But Tantallon didn’t have it all their own way as they struggled to a share of the spoils at home against Royal Musselburgh. The visitors looked set for victory at two ties apiece and with Connachan & Fairgrieve dormy two up. But Pugh and Brown produced the goods when they needed them most, winning the final two holes and keeping their team’s title hopes alive. With two matches to go before hosting the leaders in the final showdown, Fraser Symon’s team can’t afford any more slip-ups as they now trail by two points in the table.
Royal aren’t in league action again until 24th Feb, and will know by that time whether they need any more points to secure their top flight survival.
